Research has shown that 50% of teachers reported poor mental health for least one week or more in the past month. The study also revealed that teachers work beyond their scheduled hours on nearly half of all working days in a one month period. American Federation of Teachers (2017), Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Penn State University affirm that teacher stress is associated with higher levels of teacher turnover. High levels of teacher turnover can cause both decrease in student achievement and increases in overall cost for school districts (2017). According to the Wall Street Journal (2018), a research study confirmed that 83% of ten thousand educators quit in the first ten months of employment. This rate was the highest percentage of teachers leaving the classroom recorded in the United States. NTLB believes this is unacceptable in America. NTLB believes that NOW is the time to change the way we view our teachers in America. The time has come to give our teachers the honor and respect they so richly deserve in our nation. Our mission is to encourage, motivate, and inspire teachers by supporting and offering as many outside personal and professional services to to help them remain healthy and effective professionals in the classroom.
ACCORDING TO THE WALL STREET JOURNAL (2018), A RESEARCH STUDY CONFIRMED THAT 83% OF TEN THOUSAND PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATORS QUIT IN THE FIRST 10 MONTHS OF TEACHING. THIS IS THE HIGHEST RATE OF TEACHERS QUITTING ON RECORD IN THE HISTORY OF UNITED STATES.
